The Monasteries above the sky

The Tiger’s Nest monastery clings to a cliff 2300 feet above the Paro valley floor. The legend behind the name is that Padmasambhava flew to the site of the monastery on the back of a tiger. However, the rest of us must either hike or ride a mule along steep and narrow paths to reach the monastery and temples.
